What’s Happening @ Woburn Public Library

June 14, 2010 by Peter Domanico

On June 17, 2010, there will be two activities related to the library. The first, Bubble Blowing on the Library Lawn, will be held from 11:00 am till noon.  Preschoolers and their grownups are welcome to come and blow as many bubbles as they can! All supplies, including bubble wands, will be provided. This program will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Also on June 17th: the Woburn Public Library has teamed up with Uno’s to hold a fundraiser. Bring a coupon with you to Uno’s and enjoy any of their many appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages, and from 15-20% of the cost of your meal will be donated to the Children’s Room. Coupons are available at the library, and may also be obtained on the new library web page,www.woburnpubliclibrary.org. Uno’s is located in the Woburn Mall. The fundraiser will run throughout the day and evening at the restaurant. Please visit the restaurant, enjoy a meal, and support the library!
The Teddy Bear Picnic, which was rained out on June 10,  will be held on Thursday, June 24, from 11:00 am till noon on the Library Lawn. Preschoolers and older children and their grownups are invited to bring a blanket, picnic lunch, and favorite toy. Performer James Lepler will play guitar and lead children in songs and activities. A “live” teddy bear will greet everyone there. Be sure to bring your camera! This program will be cancelled (again) in the event of bad weather.

Just got back from Kindergarten orientation at the Clapp Goodyear this morning.  They asked for help in spreading the word that any Woburn families with children who are 5 or will turn 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2010, should register now for kindergarten in the fall.

If you need to register, contact your local elementary school if you know it.  Links to the individual school websites can be found here on the official Woburn Public Schools website.
