Merry Minstrels' singers and musicians will perform a Holiday Music Program on Dec 10, 2017

Come join in the fun and holiday cheer as the Woburn Historical Society presents the Merry Minstrels celebrating the Holidays with song, dance, and Christmas carols on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 4 pm, at the Wyman School Auditorium, 679 Main St, Woburn MA.  The program will include music of many eras as well as familiar favorites for all to Sing-Along.  Admission is free and light refreshments will follow the performance.  Parking is free and the Wyman School is handicapped accessible.  Information: 781-933-4976    www.woburnhistoricalsoci

The Woburn Festival on the Common will be held on the Saturday after Thankgiving from 3pm to 7pm in Woburn Center. This is the 21st festival, making it another amazing Woburn tradition. The evening is filled with live musical performances of Christmas and holiday music. Hayrides with live entertainment are offered from 3 to 7. Charmingdale farms is always present with many animals for the kids and kids at heart to feed and pet. Santa is on duty meeting with all children to get their Christmas Wish Lists.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel. Come Write In at the Woburn Public Library!

The Woburn Youth Council (WYC) is a program designed to place young people in middle and high school in leadership roles to help address community needs. Under the guidance of AmeriCorps advisors, council members are able to participate in community service opportunities based on their interests. Members will earn volunteer hours for each meeting and service-learning event they attend and are eligible for service awards based on those hours. The WYC meets every Tuesday at the Club, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Implicit Biases are our unconscious associations that generate feelings and attitudes about other people based on race, ethnicity, age, gender and other identifying traits. We all have biases that we are unaware of, and they significantly impact how we interact with others, personally and professionally. This workshop will introduce participants to the concept of implicit bias, what it is, how it develops, its impacts, and research based debiasing strategies.
