Katrina Marie Band

The Katrina Marie Band will be performing at the next Horn Pond Summer Concert, scheduled for Friday, July 13. The concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Ice House Park, the flat grassy area that runs alongside Sturgis Street. This concert is sponsored by Waterfield Sotheby's International Realty.

Baseball Before the Civil War

The Woburn Public Library has an event approaching on July 20 titled Baseball Before the Civil War. Here’s a bit about the program from their website: “Ready to blow up the myths about the founding of America’s national pastime? Legend credits Abner Doubleday as being the “Father of Baseball” but the historical evidence says otherwise. Come hear scholar Aaron Krerowicz tell us why the legend is wrong in this presentation that traces the origins and early development of baseball. Doors open at 6:45.

The fantastic MaryBeth Maes will be returning to perform at the annual Horn Pond Summer Concert Series on Friday, June 22nd. The concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis Street, otherwise known as Ice House Park. SCI AmeriCorps is now recruiting 25 full-year AmeriCorps members for positions at our partner sites across Eastern Massachusetts. Nearby ones include The James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, Girls Inc. of Lynn, the Fenway Community Center, the Lynn Food & Fitness Alliance and many more! SCI AmeriCorps members are placed into one of two teams, Volunteer Outreach Coordinators and Youth Leadership Coordinators. We are currently filling positions that will serve 1700 hours from September 2018 to June 2019.

Meet the candidates running for state representative in the 15th and 30th Middlesex districts. The 30th Middlesex district forum will be held for Woburn wards 2-6 and Reading Precincts 2-5 on Wednesday May 23rd, doors open at 6:30pm and the forum will begin at 7pm. The 15th Middlesex district forum will be held for Woburn wards 1 & 7 and Lexington on Wednesday June 6th, doors open at 6:30pm and the forum will begin at 7pm. All qualified candidates running for this seat, regardless of party affiliation, have been invited to participate in their respective forum.
